Hiking is one of our most popular activities, and with 40 miles of hiking trails (including a portion of Ohio's famous Buckeye Trail), you'll find something new at every turn. Learn more about the hiking trails at Burr Oak.
Burr Oak State Park is a great place to hunt. With over 1,800 acres of public hunting on the state park and thousands more in Morgan County, you're sure to find that big buck. Make your reservations now, and let us do the cooking!
Make Burr Oak Lodge your destination for the perfect fishing trip! Burr Oak Lake is known for its generous population of largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish. Please be sure to arrive with a valid Ohio fishing license if you would like to fish. Fishing license can be purchased online. Fishing from a belly boat is an ideal way to access hundreds of remote lakes with monster bass and crappie. Ohio Belly Boat Fishing guides offer year-round guides and can take groups from 1 to 6 people, ages 8+. They offer half-day, full-day and multi-day guided treks with all equipment available including the belly boat, waders, fins, rod, reel, tackle & instruction. Be sure to take advantage of our basketball, tennis, beach volleyball, shuffleboard and horseshoe courts during your stay—and kids of all ages will want to check out our playground equipment. Need a ball? Simply check one out from the main office.
We are privileged to have a marina with four launch ramps. Here you'll find pontoon boats, canoes, kayaks, and motorboats available for rent, as well as seasonal dock space. Please note that our boating season runs from April 15 through October 15 each year. Give Skip Rickets a call at 740-767-3585 for more information.
Beautiful, sparkling Burr Oak Lake offers a public swimming beach with easy access to a bathhouse, showers, and a changing area. (Located across the lake from the lodge, on the west side)
Geocaching aficionados will delight in finding the caches hidden around the park. Stop by the front desk to rent a GPS device, or bring your own. Learn more and register for free at Geocaching.com.
Feel like roughing it? Burr Oak State Park has 93 family-friendly campsites on a campground furnished with showers, flushable toilets and (for 17 campsites) electricity. The campground also offers a youth group camp for retreats and scouting events, as well as a general group camp for small group outings. For just $3 a round, enjoy 9 holes of mini-golf at our course, located next to the new playground here at the lodge.

Sometimes you need a break from the sun. We wouldn't blame anyone for taking some time off to relax in our beautiful Lodge. Enjoy stunning views of the surrounding woodlands from our glass-enclosed lobby, warm up in front of our wood-burning fireplace, and catch up on the big game via our large-screen TV—or seek out your own cozy nook for reading, drawing, or simply relaxing.
